Over her 28 year career, Elaine has offered counselling and psychotherapy services in various institutional and cross-cultural settings including medical hospitals, mental health facilities and crisis pregnancy centers in Canada, Eastern Europe, East Africa and Honduras.  During the last 13 years in private practice, she has provided services to adults, families and adolescents who have struggled with anxiety, depression, relational conflicts, grief and loss, chronic pain and traumatic experiences.

Elaine Olson

Recognizing the physical, emotional, relational, spiritual and social aspects of life, Elaine uses therapy techniques aimed for behavioural, cognitive, relational and faith-based development.  She is a strong advocate for women, taking a lead role to pioneer many innovative support programs for women around the world.

Working extensively with professional organizations, churches and non-profit ministries, Elaine has developed and facilitated programs for training professionals, staff and parishioners. Her effective presentation, personal approach and humorous insight to life have made her a popular speaker on many counseling related topics.


  • Elaine is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
  • She has a Master’s degree in Counselling.
  • She also offers supervised psychological services as a Supervised Associate with Dalton Associates.
  • Elaine is a member of the OACCPP – Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrics and Psychotherapists.
  • Elaine is an approved counsellor for the PAOC Credential Health Network.
  • Elaine is frequently invited to present on counselling related topics locally, nationally and internationally.
  • She volunteers her time as a Board Director for Women Together and for the SHINE Optimist Club of Canada.
  • Elaine offers supervision services for student internships and small group facilitators.
  • She is a mother of three adult daughters, one son-in-law and has been married for 31 years.
